The Arcs: Yours, Dreamily

debut album by this band featuring The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, and Nick Movshon; also on the album are Kenny Vaughan and Mariachi Flor de Toloache. The Arcs collaboratively wrote and recorded 13 tracks for Yours, Dreamily, with the musicians playing a large array of roles both vocally and instrumentally. Co-produced by Auerbach and Michels, the album was recorded in roughly two weeks through spontaneous, informal sessions across the country at the Sound Factory in Los Angeles, the Diamond Mine in Queens, Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, and in a lounge room at Electric Lady in Manhattan. Tchad Blake mixed the album on his horse farm in Wales.

For over 50 years John Mayall has served as a pioneer of blues music, rightly earning him the title, “The Godfather of British blues”. In 2013, John signed with producer Eric Corne’s label, Forty Below Records and has since been experiencing a true artistic and career renaissance. This revival continues with the release of a brilliant new studio album titled, Find A Way To Care”, produced by John and Eric at famed House of Blues Studios in Encino, California. John adds harmonica on two songs as well as a classic guitar track reminiscent of Huber Sumlin or Muddy Waters on the latter’s legendary “Long Distance Call”. He is joined by his killer touring band, Rocky Athas (guitar), Greg Rzab (bass) and Jay Davenport (drums).

includes five original songs as well as Burt Bacharach’s ‘Wives and Lovers,’ and continues to showcase her deep appreciation of the great Bessie Smith with a take on ‘What’s The Matter Now.’ She also sings in French on a song by French singer Barbara from 1965 called ‘Le Mal de Vivre’. McLorin Salvant is superbly supported in her vision by a world-class group of musicians who share her values and play a key role in shaping each performance into an artistic statement. There are no studio tricks or subterfuge here. For One To Love is truly the creation of a singular and unique creative. We present to you with Cecile, the second record in her young and amazing career.

two CD release from the British metal icons. The Book Of Souls contains 11 tracks and runs 92 minutes – it is the metal maestros’ first ever double studio album. In a career achieving sales of over 90 million albums worldwide, The Book Of Souls is the band’s 16th studio album since their 1980 eponymous debut charted at #4 in the UK. The album was recorded at Guillaume Tell Studios, Paris, which they had previously used for 2000’s Brave New World, with regular producer Kevin Shirley in late summer 2014. Their previous studio release, 2010’s The Final Frontier, was Maiden’s most successful album chart-wise, reaching #1 in 28 countries and their highest chart debut in the U.S. (#4).
