Things Lost in the Fires

Friends, The fires have caused unfathomable tragedy to our community, and we are stunned.
Our friends and customers have lost homes, and worse, many lives have been lost.

I keep hearing words like “lucky” and “blessed” from folks whose homes and belongings went up in smoke.
But let’s face it, losing your stuff is horrible. We spend our whole lives collecting things that define us.
I have reached out to many of my musician friends and asked for donations of music.
Many have responded with stacks of CD’s, and many more will be on the way.

On Saturday, we will have modest care packages of CD’s to hand out to folks who lost their collection in the fire.
We will be distributing them at Ives Park in Sebastopol, where Jim Corbett is throwing a Peacetown Fire Benefit.
There will be donated beer and wine for sale, auctions, and LIVE music, all to raise money and lift spirits.

Please tell people who lost music collections about this.

Out There at The Last Record Store — Remember when your car didn’t have auxiliary cord slots or Bluetooth capabilities to sync your phone to your stereo? Better yet, remember when CD players didn’t exist and tapes were all the rage?
Well, the majority of the local Americana music scene does. “The Out There Tapes” is a collection of songs by local acts such as Ashley Allred, Frankie Boots and The County Line, David Luning and Sean Hayes, just to name a few. The compilation was recorded at Gremlintone studios owned by local musician John Courage.
To celebrate the release of this collection of cool tunes, both The Crux and John Courage will play a free concert at The Last Record Store in Santa Rosa this Saturday. Swing by to pick up a copy, or listen to cool rock n’ roll guitar riffs and creative sounds made via large metal chains.

BIG in-store on Saturday September 2 @ 2pm ish:
